Trine to launch entrepreneurial leadership doctorate

Trine University in Angola has announced plans to launch its second doctoral degree program. The Higher Learning Commission has approved the Ph.D. in entrepreneurial leadership program, which will begin enrolling students this fall.
The program will be offered online and the university says it will not restrict students to cohorts, allowing them to complete the degree at their own pace. Ken Rauch, who will serve as director of the program, says the degree meets a need in the corporate world.
"Practitioners in professional leadership roles are underrepresented among Ph.D.s, due to the difficult balance of professional obligations and duties with the traditional residency requirements of doctoral-level study," said Rauch. "Through this program, executives can earn the credentials they need to teach, advance within the corporate realm or explore new career opportunities, while still maintaining professional commitments and a personal life."
The first classes will begin August 20. Trine says students will visit the university's main campus and Fort Wayne Education Center once per academic year for the Leadership Academy. The academy will feature programming related to the doctoral program's curricula and other elements.
