Two Manufacturers Detail Growth Plans
WARSAW and SHIPSHEWANA -
The U.S. subsidiary of a United Kingdom-based company and a homegrown Hoosier manufacturer are planning to expand in northern Indiana. Texmo Precision Castings is looking to invest $5.5 million over the next four years to grow operations at the former Medcast facility and nearly double its staff in Indiana. Shipshewana-based ARI Legacy Sleepers intends to add a dozen jobs, expand service and production capacity and create a dedicated research and development space.
Texmo currently employs 35 Hoosiers and plans to add a small number by years end, eventually bringing on 30 by 2019. Texmo acquired Medcast two years ago and says its expansion will allow for increased production capacity, while creating an area just for medical device and implant casting processing. Renovations have already begun in Kosciusko County. The company served clients in the medical, orthopedic, aerospace, power systems and automotive markets.
Texmo Sales Manager Andrew Price says "in addition to developing our current employees, we are also excited to increase capacity and have the opportunity to expand and work with more, hardworking Hoosiers. This long term investment will enable our company sustain continuous growth in prestigious markets including medical device and aerospace sectors and to broaden our product range into higher integrity applications."
American Reliance Industries Co., which does business as ARI Legacy Sleepers, plans to build a 25,000 square-foot addition. The company partners with owner-operators, trucking companies and franchise dealers to build custom sleeper compartments for semi-trucks. Its current Shipshewana work force numbers 56.
ARI Legacy Sleepers President Curt Riegsecker says "we are excited about the expansion, which will ensure longevity for our associates and continued job creation in our LaGrange County community and in Indiana."
