USF art student tapped for Bicentennial mural
Noble County, Ind.
A junior art major at the University of Saint Francis will paint a mural for Albion’s Bicentennial Legacy Project.
Wolf Lake resident Daniel McDonald designed the mural that will be installed on the south wall of the Noble County Economic Development Corporations building on South Orange Street. The mural will be visible as people travel into Albion on State Road 9 from the south.
McDonald is a 2013 Central Noble High School graduate. He will work with Tim Parsely, his professor of drawing and painting at USF, to paint the mural. Parsley has created and painted many murals in the Cincinnati area.
McDonald works in watercolor, acrylics, oils, sculpture, abstracts, still life and portraits. He was awarded an art studio on campus from a field of 300 students.
The Albion S.T.A.R. Team is raising funds for the mural project. The Brick Ark Inn will host a block party on June 25 as a fundraiser.
Donations are also being accepted for the mural. Checks may be made payable to Albion S.T.A.R. Team and mailed to the Noble County Convention & Visitors Bureau, P.O. Box 325, Rome City, IN 46784.
The Indiana Bicentennial Commission is endorsing the project. Albion’s mural was among 144 Legacy Projects approved during that round.
