The University of Saint Francis' new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program in Nurse Anesthesia has been accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, the university announced. The initial accreditation is for five years, the maximum allowed.

The first group of DNP students in Nurse Anesthesia will begin their studies in August, the announcement said.

Applications also are being accepted for the second group of students to begin the program, who will start in August 2018, the announcement said. For more information, potential applicants can contact Program Director Marquessa Fisher at mdfisher@sf.edu.

USF also is accepting applications now for its other DNP degree option, which is designed for nurses who already have earned a master's degree in nursing and want to earn a doctorate. For more information about the post-master's degree DNP program, which also has received accreditation, contact Program Director Wendy Clark at wclark@sf.edu.
