Wabash Marketplace received a $4,418 Quick Impact Placebased Grant to add a bit of beauty to some bland traffic equipment.

The grant will be used to beautify traffic control boxes by wrapping them in famous works of art in both Wabash and North Manchester. Two of the designs will feature artists Susan Ring of North Manchester and Terry Pulley of Wabash, according to Andrea Zwiebel, Wabash Marketplace project coordinator. Those works depict county landmarks.

Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs awarded more than $52,000 to 11 communities and organizations for quality of place initiatives, Crouch's office announced April 25.

"This grant is designed to fund the type of space enhancement and community transformation that sparks community wide conversation and creativity," according to the program website.
