Walking tours of Decatur approaching

Historic walking tours of downtown Decatur, hosted by the Adams County Historical Museum, will be held the first Sunday of June, July and August. The 90-minute guided tours start at 1 p.m. at the museum, 420 W. Monroe St., Decatur. The cost of the walking tour is $5, with children under 12 free. Additional events, programs and speakers will be announced soon.

Persons interested in volunteering at the museum or for upcoming events you may email the historical society’s website at www.adamscountyinhistoricalmuseum.com or fill out a volunteer paper at the museum.

The museum will be open each Saturday and Sunday until the end of September. A large collection of local historic artifacts and pictures are displayed on three floors at what was originally the home former banker Charles Dugan and his family.  Admission to tour the museum is free; donations are accepted.
