Whitley County Company Expanding

A manufacturer in Whitley County has announced plans to expand operations. Red Star Contract Manufacturing Inc. will add a second facility in Larwill that it says will triple manufacturing space and add a small number of jobs.
The company says the new facility will be used for manufacturing and clean room packaging. Red Star provides insert molding, product assembly and prototyping services for the medical device manufacturing industry.
"Having employees committed to quality and on time delivery has been the key to our success, which has blessed us with growth and afforded us the ability to expand our capabilities including ultrasonic welding and clean room packaging," said Red Star President Scott Werstler, "A talented staff with expertise in many disciplines of manufacturing allows us to remain a vertically integrated company in control of all aspects of our manufacturing processes, providing our customers a single source provider with a short time to launch."
The company says two jobs will be added as a result of the $450,000 investment. Whitley County has approved a 10-year tax abatement for the project.
