9 area hospitals earn recognition

A health accreditation agency has named six Lutheran Health Network hospitals and three Parkview Health hospitals as top performers on key quality measures.
The Chicago-based agency, known as the Joint Commission, is the leading accrediting organization for health care providers in the U.S.
The hospitals were recognized for exemplary performance in using processes that are clinically proven to improve care for conditions including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and stroke.
Lutheran’s recognized hospitals were Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Dupont Hospital, Kosciusko Community Hospital, Lutheran Hospital, The Orthopedic Hospital and Dukes Memorial Hospital.
Parkview’s recognized hospitals were Parkview Huntington Hospital, Parkview Noble Hospital and Parkview Ortho Hospital.
