Ash Brokerage spins out JourneyGuide division

The JourneyGuide division of Ash Brokerage will launch its retirement income planning software during the third quarter as a separate company.
“JourneyGuide started with a question: Can we prove or disprove that guaranteed income streams improve retirement outcomes? When you ask big, empowering questions, and assemble a world-class team in the pursuit of the answers, incredible things can happen,” Ash Brokerage CEO Tim Ash said in a statement.
“We believe that spinning JourneyGuide out will allow for the focus needed to maximize the impact that it can have in our efforts to provide advisers with the most powerful retirement income planning tool on the market.”
The spinout decision followed a highly successful beta release in order to achieve a greater impact on financial advisers and their clients through the focus JourneyGuide will have on the software business.
“JourneyGuide has been a top priority within Ash for the last several years, given the macro factors that are changing the landscape of retirement,” Derek Trimble, the new company’s CEO, said in the statement. “Through the deep relationships that Ash has, we have been able to partner with advisers and firms to really understand the challenges they and their clients face. These partners have been instrumental in the design of JourneyGuide and are the foundation of our customer base as we become a separate company.
“We will continue to have a very close relationship with Ash as we execute our shared mission of helping as many people as possible have the happy retirements they deserve.”
