HAMILTON — A Hamilton company is expanding and expects to add 40 jobs this year, officials said.
AZZ Galvanizing at 7825 S. Homestead Drive plans to invest $2 million on an 18,000-square-foot building expansion and up to $4 million on new machinery and equipment, company officials told the Hamilton Town Council Thursday. The council granted a property tax abatement on the new investment.
The Hamilton plant will add the 40 new hires to its current workforce of 82 employees, said Dave Koenig, executive director of the Steuben County Economic Development Corp.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. awarded $220,000 in Hoosier Business Investment Tax Credits to the project.
AZZ Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas, bought the Hamilton plant in 2008. The company is growing its market share and upgrading to keep pace with demand, Koenig said.
Describing itself as America’s largest galvanizer, AZZ Galvanizing Services operates 34 plants in 17 states and one Canadian province.
