Cardinal IG has received approval from the Fremont Town Council on a 10-year tax abatement for a $4.3 million project that will add 10 jobs to the 300 already at the facility.

Mike Connell, plant manager for Cardinal IG, said the project, which is $4 million for building expansion and $300,000 for equipment, is required to get additional resource power for organic growth as well as to give the company a platform for additional, long-term growth.

The abatement received favorable recommendation from the Fremont Redevelopment Commission before being forwarded to the council for approval, said Steuben County Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Isaac Lee.
