Dupont Hospital is investing $4.2 million to renovate its ambulatory surgery center on the north-side hospital’s campus, officials announced Thursday. Work, which has already started, is scheduled to be completed in the fall.

Updates are being made to six surgery suites, which are used for endoscopy and pain management procedures. Additional diagnostic equipment and a new nurse call system are being added. The project also includes new flooring, lighting and furnishings for the examination rooms, offices and waiting areas.

The ambulatory surgery center is inside the medical building at 2510 E. Dupont Road. The building will remain open throughout the project, which is being managed by Weigand Construction. MKM Architecture + Design is the design contractor.

Chad Towner, Dupont’s CEO, said the investment is designed to enhance the patient experience.
