ERAPSCO Lands $200M Contract Boost

The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a major contract boost to a joint venture between Columbia City-based Ultra Electronics Holdings plc and Illinois-based Sparton Corp. (NYSE: SPA). ERAPSCO Inc. will receive more than $200 million to manufacture sonobuoys for the U.S. Navy.

The contract calls for more than 140,000 sonobuoys to be produced through October 2019. Nearly half of the work will be performed in Columbia City with the rest being performed in DeLeon Springs, Florida. 

The Naval Air Systems Command in Maryland is the contracting activity.
