Ninety more.
That’s how many workers Frontier Communications announced Tuesday it plans to hire as full-time residential sales and service consultants.
The additional employees will be part of the telecommunication company’s Residential Sales and Service Call Center at its Mid-South Region headquarters, 8001 W. Jefferson Blvd.
Some of the hires could start as soon as June 27, Frontier said in a news release.
Newly hired employees participate in a hands-on, 90-day training program.
The jobs, depending on employee performance, pay up to $15 an hour, Andrea Fast, senior marketing specialist for Frontier’s central region, said in an email.
Tuesday’s announcement is one in a series the company, which provides TV, phone, Internet and other services, has made since last fall. The most recent was four weeks ago when Frontier, with 1,325 employees at the time, announced a need for 30 additional business sales and service employees.
Three other announcements combined since September last year called for hiring 125 other workers.
Fast said in Tuesday’s email response to questions that the jobs are being due to company growth.
She did not go into detail, but in February the company said it expected to complete in April the acquisition of some former Verizon operations in Florida, Texas and California.
Frontier employed 1,355 as of Tuesday in Fort Wayne, Fast said. Companywide, Frontier employs about 28,600.
“Companywide jobs are continuously added due to attribution and growth, but Fort Wayne is unique because we house one of the major call centers,” Fast said.
The company will hold informational sessions on Friday, May 27 at the top of each hour between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. with interviews immediately following.
