December 13, 2011
COLUMBIA CITY, Indiana -- Iotron Industries USA took a major step forward toward the opening of its $15 million facility in NE Indiana with the installation of its 2.5 ton e-beam accelerator at its new Whitley County facility, according to Tino Pereira, president and CEO of Iotron.
The Canadian company decided to locate its new 54,000 sq. ft. e-beam sterilization and materials modification in NE Indiana in 2010 following an extensive 16 month search.
“Indiana has proven to be everything it promised in terms of a supportive, aggressive and business-friendly environment,” said Pereira. “We look forward to providing sterilization and materials modification services for orthopedic, industrial, plastics and agribusiness companies in Indiana and the Midwest.”
The new facility is expected to open in February 2012. Iotron’s electron-beam accelerator is non-nuclear and uses electricity for e-beam generation.
