IPFW to Hold New Tech Showcase

Fort Wayne, Ind. -- What kind of innovative ideas can we expect from tomorrow’s workforce? Visit the New Tech Showcase hosted by Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Wednesday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Walb Student Union International Ballroom to find out. Community members are invited to attend the showcase of 41 projects by teams from the six area New Tech High Schools to learn how high school students envision tomorrow's technologies.

Students participating in the New Tech Showcase will spend the day at IPFW displaying their projects, participating in a panel discussion with young professionals, and taking tours of academic departments that most interest them and relate to their projects.

Mark Franke, IPFW's associate vice chancellor for enrollment management, said, "Students at the six area New Tech high schools are working on impressive projects. IPFW is proud to be able to host a showcase where these students can demonstrate the results of their work to each other and to the general public."

The six area New Tech High Schools are Adams Central High School Jet Tech, Lakeland High School Leading EDGE, Columbia City High School Eagle Tech Academy, DeKalb High School DeKalb New Tech, Huntington High School Viking New Tech, and New Tech Academy at Wayne High School.
