Manchester’s pharmacy program wins full accreditation

July 11th, 2016

The Journal Gazette

Manchester University's pharmacy program has been fully accredited by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education, the university announced today.

The program could be fully accredited only after graduating its first class, Manchester said in a statement. The first class in the four-year doctoral program graduated in May.

"Full accreditation is a huge milestone for the university and reward for those who took a chance with us because they shared our vision," said Dave McFadden, Manchester's president, in the statement.

Raylene Rospond, dean of the program and a Manchester vice president, said in the statement: "We take seriously our mission to educate future pharmacists who provide patient-centered care guided by respect for the infinite worth of individuals."

In 2010, The Lilly Endowment awarded Manchester $35 million to launch the program, which enabled the North Manchester-based university to establish a Fort Wayne campus at Dupont and Diebold roads.
