FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - General Mills opened a new customer service facility in Allen County. Local leaders helped cut the ribbon Wednesday at the distribution center at 12300 Bluffton Road on the south side of Fort Wayne.
While it was being built, the one-and-a-half-million square foot facility was the largest concrete project in the U-S.
The building is LEED Gold certified and features energy efficient lighting, low-flow plumbing and a white roof to reflect sunlight and reduce urban warming.
the U.S. Green Building Councils LEED Gold standards recognize leadership in energy and environmental design.
General Mills is based in Minneapolis and its brands include Cheerios, Haagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant and Old El Paso.
