Northeast Indiana Announces New Partnership with Diverse Talent Strategies

February 1st, 2019

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership and Diverse Talent Strategies (DTS) have partnered to deploy the Engage Mentoring program to area employers. The initiative will help Northeast Indiana students connect with quality mentors in the regional business community and will arm employers with tools to attract, retain and develop talent.

The Engage Mentoring program is a model that uses a proprietary software system to help employees build the necessary skills needed to be good mentors, as well as connect with qualified mentors in the business community.

“We are thrilled to offer the Engage Mentoring program to our employees,” said Susan Boyd, vice president of human resources at Rea Magnet Wire. “Now more than ever, employers need resources and strategies for employee engagement and development. This program will be a powerful tool in their arsenal.”

The program includes a Talent Executive Roundtable of key leaders meeting quarterly to discuss tactics and share best practices related to attracting, retaining and developing talent. Barry Schrock and Joshua Wenning of Summit Coaching and Consulting will facilitate those discussions, and 14 companies are currently signed up to participate.

“We are excited to partner with DTS on the Engage Mentoring program,” said Ryan Twiss, vice president of regional initiatives at the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. “The program offers two important benefits for Northeast Indiana employers. First, it offers regional companies an additional tactic to help them attract, retain and develop talent. Second, it links our students to mentors in the business community. It’s a win-win in connecting companies to the talent they need.”
