Fort Wayne-based Parkview Health will Tuesday cut the ribbon on two new multi-purpose facilities. The Parkview Sports Medicine Field Turf and the Parkview Sports Medicine Performance Center are the result of a nearly two-year-old partnership between the health system and Empowered Sports Club in Fort Wayne.
The nearly 26,000-square-foot field turf can be divided into as many as four smaller fields with marked lines, soccer goals, and safety netting for athletes. The 8,000-square-foot performance center features a multi-purpose turf designed for speed, agility and injury prevention training, two fully-equipped weight rooms and sports performance training programs.
Parkview says the performance center is designed for athletes from age eight through college. Details of the financial investment in the facilities were not disclosed. You can view a time lapse video of the creation of the performance center by clicking here.
Parkview Sports Medicine announced in January 2017 it would be the club’s exclusive athletic training and rehabilitation partner. The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Empowered Sports Club.
