Progress report given on riverfront elevated boardwalk

March 7th, 2019

Construction of an elevated boardwalk known as the Tree Canopy Trail that's part of the downtown Riverfront project is ahead of schedule and on Thursday WANE 15 got an opportunity to see the progress being made.

The Tree Canopy Trail is located along the north bank of the Phase 1 Riverfront Fort Wayne near the Wells Street Bridge. People will be able to walk among the trees approximately 20 feet above the water level and see downtown from a new perspective.

The trail will open with the rest of Promenade Park on June 21.
