Regional Partnership names VP of Business Development Strategy
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has named Fred Bean as vice president of business development strategy.
In this new role, Bean will be responsible for developing and implementing key strategies for the Partnership’s business development and cluster initiatives. He will work with site selectors, local economic development professionals and leaders within key industry clusters to grow the Partnership’s business attraction efforts.
The presence of strong industry clusters within a region creates a support framework for existing business expansions and new business attraction. The Partnership has identified five key industry clusters in Northeast Indiana: defense/aerospace, food processing, insurance, logistics and medical devices.
“For Northeast Indiana to have continued success, we must integrate cluster development strategies with our business development efforts,” said John Sampson, the Partnership’s president and CEO. “Given Fred’s previous experience with the local defense industry and his commitment to Northeast Indiana, Fred will be a great addition to our business development efforts.”
Bean has extensive experience working in the defense industry in various capacities, including serving as a software developer, software quality assurance engineer, systems test engineer, program manager and in business development.
He graduated from Salem State University with a bachelor’s degree in math and computer science and earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Bean is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
