January 13th, 2021

Technology jobs are increasing in Fort Wayne. Rural Sourcing, a leader in onshore software development, has seen tremendous growth in its Fort Wayne Development Center. In 2020, despite economic challenges from the global pandemic, Rural Sourcing’s Fort Wayne location grew its staff by 144 percent by providing high paying technology jobs in the area.

Rural Sourcing has continued to expand, demonstrating both the demand and success of the company’s innovative model. At its core, Rural Sourcing provides custom software development for some of the largest and most innovative companies in the U.S. With six development centers located in middle America, the company and its employees are making a positive impact on the community and the country. Over the past decade, Rural Sourcing has received numerous workplace awards—both on the local and national level—demonstrating the company’s commitment to delivering the best for its employees and customers.

“It’s an exciting time to be in Fort Wayne,” said Bill Rose, development center director, Fort Wayne. “Despite the challenges of the current business environment, Rural Sourcing is thriving in Fort Wayne. We have seen tremendous growth and we anticipate even more in the coming year. We are planting a stake in the ground that will help Fort Wayne become nationally recognized for technology excellence.”

Finding top tech talent is a challenge for companies in the U.S. That has led to what many have dubbed “the war for talent.” Rural Sourcing is bucking that trend. The company has found great tech talent in Fort Wayne and is actively working with schools and coding boot camp programs to train the next generation of developers. The company is currently hiring software developers for its Fort Wayne development center and hopes to officially open its expanded facility in 2021. When fully staffed, the center will house 130 software developers.

“Rural Sourcing has seen a tremendous amount of growth over the past two years in Fort Wayne and beyond,” said Monty Hamilton, CEO of Rural Sourcing. “We are helping to build a bustling tech community in Fort Wayne. We are able to recruit new talent to the area because of the high quality of life the city provides. The sky is the limit for technology, innovation, and software development in Fort Wayne.”

The community, its people and culture were an important factor in why Rural Sourcing chose to bring a software development center to Fort Wayne. Before selecting Fort Wayne, Rural Sourcing leaders evaluated more than 50 cities. In the company’s analysis, Fort Wayne was at the top of the list. The growth Rural Sourcing has seen over the past year is just a start. The company expects to continue expanding its operation and help to build Fort Wayne into a nationally recognized technology hub.
