Tenneco Inc. Hiring in Noble County

LIGONIER, Ind. - Tenneco Inc., a global designer , manufacturer and distributor of clean-air and ride-performance products and systems for the automotive and commercial vehicle markets, has begun hiring 100 people at its Ligonier facility to support the recent launch of a new product line for Chrysler Corp., the Northeast Indiana Regional Workforce Investment Board announced.
"This is an exciting time for folks to join Tenneco and get in on the ground floor of a brand new product launch," said Plant Manager Doug Bonecutter. "Were pleased to expand our workforce here in Ligonier. An increase of this size creates promotional opportunities for both existing and new employees."
The open positions include machine operators, welders, material handlers and equipment set-up operators. Starting wages for the full-time positions range from $13 to $14.50 an hour, and length-of-service-based wage increases are offered every six months until top pay for the jobs is reached.
Prospective employees must have achieved high-school equivalency. In cases where a specialized skill is needed, Tenneco officials said, training will be offered.
Tenneco, in partnership with WorkOne Northeast, will be holding hiring fairs Sept. 28, Oct. 19 and Nov. 9. The first hiring fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 28 at the WorkOne career center in Kendallville, 524 Fairview Blvd.
Applications will also be accepted before and after that date at the Kendallville center and the Auburn center, 936 W. 15th St.
Tenneco's Ligonier facility currently has 600 employees and manufactures clean-air products for both Chrysler and Ford, including mufflers and catalytic converters.
