Tens of thousands lined downtown streets to watch the Three Rivers Festival Parade Saturday. In near-perfect weather – temperatures in the low 70s under a brilliant blue sky – thousands marched and rode, representing politicians, police, firefighters, local businesses, car collectors, religious groups, schools and more. They found myriad ways to adapt the festival’s theme of Superheroes, from saluting public-safety workers to donning costumes as if it were a midsummer Halloween.
